Who is the shinigami king in bleach

Several characters have been noted including within the canon-ish Can't Fear Your Own World light novel to be Soul King candidates : Yhwach : Since he absorbed the Soul King's entire power, he became a suitable candidate for the very title of Soul King himself.

Ichigo : Notably possesses both Hollow and shinigami reiatsu. He also mastered Fullbring, thus proving he possesses a Soul King fragment. Upon stealing Ichigo's Fullbring, he also copied his reiatsu structure, thus gaining Hollow properties, as explained by the Bleach wiki : "Upon absorption of one's Fullbring, he also incorporates their own Reiatsu into the attack, making it virtually identical to the original user.

By sacrificing himself and unleashing Mimihagi, he could have taken, theoretically, the Soul King's place although his attempt thwarted by Yhwach. In short, an artificial individual built from shinigami, Hollow and Soul King fragments to achieve transcendent power and take the place of the Soul King.

Long ago when only one true world existed, humans and spirits co-existed together. Then the Hollows came into existence, devouring souls. The Soul King appeared and started to kill all the Hollows to protect the world - similar to what the Quincy did. However, annihilating Hollows destabilized the world. Although the Soul King never showed resistance, they further detached his body parts and scattered them around the world because they feared the possibility he could opposed them with his immense powers.

He was sealed half-dead into a crystal prison housed in the Soul King Palace. The Soul King could be referred to as the most powerful being that ever existed in the Bleach universe. He possesses The Almighty, an ability that allows him to see into or alter the future and it was used to create the three worlds.

Yhwach also inherited this power. Yhwach refuses to see his plan fail, but before he can separate Mimihagi from his father, Ichigo and Yoruichi initiate a series of complex traps. Unfortunately, the heroes don't win this battle. To ensure his ultimate victory, Yhwach decides to take over the Soul King. Mimihagi blocks his path, but the Quincy King is far too powerful to be stopped by a mere hand.

Instead, Yhwach engulfs Mimihagi, turning into a gigantic mound of spherical entities that pour down into Soul Society. Once this is complete, he goes on to absorb everything from the Soul King, an operation that almost seems like it would overwhelm the villain.

It doesn't, and Yhwach is now the most powerful entity in the story's universe. The Bleach manga concludes without any explanation as to how the different worlds are stabilized, considering that this task is meant for the Soul King who is dead. However, the canonical light novel , Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World , reveals that the Royal Guard transforms Yhwach's dead body into another Soul King, of course after tightly barricading it behind dozens of unbreakable bakudo spells.

Ajay's natural habitat is his bedroom, which means that his time is spent staring at his TV screen in a hypnotic coma. He tends to rant about the lack of quality programming in his life, but the amount of content he consumes would make even Galactus gassy. By Ajay Aravind Published Apr 10, The Soul King is not involved in governing Soul Society and never interferes. Most Shinigami have never seen him. To them, he is revered and symbolic, but not present in their lives.

The Soul King's sole purpose is to regulate the flow of souls into and out of Soul Society and keep the flow stable. At some point in history, the Soul King's limbs and organs were separated from his body, gaining sentience as deities with their own respective powers; two of which joined Yhwach 's Sternritters as his Schutzstaffel.

After that, he was sealed up and had restraints placed on his powers by the Shinigami. Shortly after the Royal Guard travel to the Seireitei and retrieve Ichigo Kurosaki and his Shinigami friends so they can heal and train in the Soul King Palace , the Soul King is approached by a retainer, who watches over the Soul King and inquires if he has awoken when the Soul King opens his eyes. Soon afterward, Ichigo and his friends arrive in the room, where Yhwach reveals the Soul King's situation to them before claiming they are too late to do anything.

When Ichigo attempts to help the king by pulling out Yhwach's sword, Blut Vene veins spread over his right side and force him to slash the Soul King across the torso. Yhwach explains Ichigo's actions by revealing that Quincy blood cannot tolerate the Soul King's existence. As the lower half of the Soul King's body and containment pod fall to the ground, Yhwach explains to Ichigo how he forced Ichigo to attack him by giving the Reiatsu still present in his sword to him, which his blood reacted to.

Shocked by this, Yhwach notes that Mimihagi is the one thing that his eyes cannot predict and demands to know if the Soul King is beginning to feel sentimental toward Soul Society after protecting it for all this time as the eye of Mimihagi begins to close.

Yoruichi notes that Mimihagi has stabilized the king before proclaiming that they will have to replace him. When Yhwach, who possesses vast amounts of Reiryoku himself, absorbs the Soul King, the Quincy Emperor collapses from the sheer strain, needing time for his body to fully acclimate to it.
