Why meriweather was cut

Bears tight end Martellus Bennett went a step further when he joined a local radio station and discussed the Meriweather hits, and his reaction to them. There's a way to go out there and be a beast when you hit people, and have nobody want to come across the middle. It's not ignorance, because he knows what he's doing, or guys know what they're doing. Some guys are making these attacks on other guys. For his part, Meriweather defended himself and says he was trying to perform each hit as outlined by the NFL, which is keen to cut out shots to the head and avoid concussions.

I wasn't trying to hurt nobody. I used my shoulder like they told me to do. You've just got to play. In the month's time since the Brandon Meriweather Apopka shooting, the circumstances of the incident have become much clearer. According to Meriweather's laywer, the New England Patriots safety was not the shooter, and never had a gun in his possession. In fact, Meriweather was said to be a "peacemaker," and the police are well aware of who the shooter is. Peacemaker or not, Meriweather should be on his way out of New England.

Over Meriweather's four year career, he has made the Pro Bowl twice. But, allow me to break the news to you: the Pro Bowl is a joke and on top of it, he was only named to the roster due to injuries to players ahead of him. Meriweather was benched multiple times last season, and has seen his playing time fall dramatically over the past two seasons.

I hate to see Lorenzo go, he will be missed. This meant he was a special teamer, pretty much, and was going to get paid accordingly.

Definitely a fan favorite, and one we HATE to lose. I wish he could have stayed, and wonder if the Redskins would have been better served with an aging Fletcher, or a younger Fletcher full time at ILB…. Aging Fletcher, or a younger Alexander, I meant…. Would have been interesting to see him in that spot full time. With being injured like he was last year the front office held all the bargaining chips here. Brandon would have been lucky to make his new deal anywhere else. Smart move. I hope Brandon comes back ready to play next year, because he was beast for about 30 minutes this year.
