Nov 6, Downgrade your driver to revision Check to make sure your case has sufficient air flow and ensure that you have "negative air pressure" more fans "sucking" out air than "blowing" in This will ensure that heat is being removed rather than just being pushed around.

I was told by a friend that the card should have come with an installer for controlling the card's clock, fan speed, etc. However, I only have the driver installer and it does install the NVidia control panel, but there are no options to tweak the the clock, memory, and fan speed.

Should I just get a 3rd party software, like Afterburner? Nvidia also has it's own version although less "pretty" called Inspector. Thank you for the very informative response. Playing games isn't exactly my only primary use, so I'm fine with it, but maybe it is better to get a GPU geared towards gaming more than media in the future.

I plan on getting a small electric fan to assist, instead of getting case fans considering how outdated the design of my case is. Plus, I think I'll spend less that way. Well, I'm still thinking about it. Again, thank you for the tips. I'll see if downgrading my driver will help.

Hopefully, it does. I had a Zotac GT with 1 Gb DDR5, and while it's not considered a "gaming" card, it did plenty well for all of the games I used on my x monitor got rid of the less than one year ago. You might want to try the MSI Afterburner works great for overclocking, etc.

My temps never really got above 60 with stock cooling in a crowded case , so it sounds like your card is indeed running a bit hot.

My main problem really is that the cooling system of the card can't keep up with the performance. Mannerheim , Apr 5, You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. Share This Page. Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? I repeat it again the GT is piss poor. There is no market for such a totally underperforming card since it is way too expansive compared with the competition.

Which is doubtful since AMD market equivalents use less power. Is the HD piss poor too? My already ran the games I play on high and ultra with 30 to 40 FPS. You cant sense any lag above 25FPS, hell, even 15 is acceptable in slower paced games. Just the fact that this is a bit-bus en ddr5 make this a great entry card.

In most cases your better of with this one, than a but-bus and gddr3. Any way it is a nice entry card,no doubt. Not every body willing to go for high end cards just a craze.

Perfect piece for low budget upgrade. I bought this card today.
