How long are photopass photos available
WillCAD Member. You can call and ask, but prepare yourself for disappointment. You've got two separate expiration periods to deal with: 1 PhotoPass photos expire after 45 days, unless you purchase a one-time day extension, which you must do BEFORE they expire. Your photos have expired already, so they'd have to be recovered first, and even then, you're way beyond the day maximum. This day window is not connected to the expiration of your photos - the day countdown starts when you make your first download, and it can end before your photos are all expired, or it can continue after all of your photos have expired.
If you didn't download a single photo, then your Memory Maker entitlement is still good. But if you downloaded even one photo before they expired, then your Memory Maker entitlement will also be expired.
So, first things first - can they bring back all of your expired photos? If they can't, then that's that, your photos will be gone. If they can bring back all of your expired photos, AND your Memory Maker entitlement has not been used, then you should be able to download your photos. This is a lot of IFs, though, so like I said - be prepared for disappointment. Or at the very least, for a lot of time on the phone explaining over and over what happened and waiting for someone to get back to you.

Earlier this year we let our window slip by because, to it simply, I was an idiot and didn't download them when I should have and for some reason about half our photos disappeared for three weeks but reappeared right before our window closed.
When we called, we simply explained what happened and asked if there was anything they could do. After a little bit of hold and more hold we were told that our photos would be restored overnight and they could see that our photos were all simply locked. Restaurant Reviews. Hotel Reviews. To find your photos in My Disney Experience, head to the menu and select Photos. You should see your photos listed below. In the top right-hand corner, you'll see an option to Link Photos. This is where you can enter the information from a PhotoPass card to populate your photos, by either scanning the card with the camera feature or typing the link in. If you don't have a MagicBand, this is also where you'll find the link to show your PhotoPass code.
We highly recommend snapping a screenshot of this — it makes it so much easier to show photographers without having to worry about load time or losing battery power! It's here that you can also manually link your Memory Maker if you purchased it without being logged into My Disney Experience.
Exclusive to PhotoPass are Magic Shots. Magic Shots are photos with a little extra pixie dust, like the Baby Yoda we mentioned earlier.
Others we've seen include Tinkerbell appearing in your hands or Remy appearing as an International Food and Wine Festival exclusive. There's even some shots that involve perspective, such as Tiny World and Super Zoom taking you standing next to Cinderella Castle, to a view high above Main Street, back to pinpointing you among the other guests!
You'll often find special photo-ops during festivals or special events, with props, Magic Shots and backdrops. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take iconic photos! However, if you're looking for some selfie spots, there are also some Instagram-worthy walls around property, including:.
Hop into the map function and toggle to PhotoPass. You may be wondering, in the digital age, why should I waste my time on a photo service? Here are our honest thoughts on Memory Maker:.
We get this question a lot, and our answer is always: That depends! You know your family and the amount of photos you'd like best. If it's your first time at Walt Disney World and you'll be there a while, Memory Maker may be a good investment to ensure that you get all of those magical shots. If you're a seasoned visitor who will be there for a short period of time, you may find that purchasing must-have photos a la carte and using your phone the remainder of the time is all you need.
This really varies by family! No matter what you decide, we are big fans of Disney PhotoPass service. From capturing the wonder of seeing Mickey in person for the first time, to adding pixie dust to otherwise traditional shots, it always leaves a little extra magic in our photo memories. What were your thoughts? Did we miss any tips or tricks? Be sure to share with us in the comments below!
Here's What You Should Know. The past few times that we've visited, there have been lots of PhotoPass photographers available - hope this helps! Are memory maker photographers available during extra magic hours? Specifically in the morning magic hours? There may be a photographer or two during the Early Theme Park Entry period. Is there somewhere to find a list of rides that have photos for the Memory Maker?
I'm talking 16 people! With that being said, will we need to make more than one purchase of MemoryMaker? For instance, if four people are riding Tower of Terror, and another four people are riding Slinky Dog at the same time, will a person in each group need a purchased MemoryMaker assigned to their MDE, or will one be enough for our entire party?
We are so glad to hear it, Josie - thanks for hopping by! Only the party member who purchased Memory Maker will be able to download the photos, but anyone you are linked to can have their bands scanned. Have a great time! If I am going in September, when is the best time to pre-purchase Memory Maker?
Is it too soon to purchase it now? Also, if my friends are part of my party in the My Disney App, how can they see the pictures without the watermark on them. In the past when I have purchased memory maker, only I could download and edit the pictures. My friends were not able too unless I shared them after I downloaded them to my phone.
You can purchase Memory Maker at anytime, even during or after your trip, but in order to take advantage of the advance pricing, you'd just need to purchase it three days before the first day you intend to use it. So if you want to go ahead now, that's toadally fine! Click "Update" next to each person you want to share your photos with, and make sure that you select "My Disney PhotoPass Photos" so they can view them.
We are just going to Boo Bash. If we like our photos and take plenty, can we purchase the one day memory maker afterwards? I am thinking about purchasing Memory Maker. Once I download the pictures to my computer, can I print the pictures wherever I choose or do I have to download and purchase through Disney? Thanks in advance. Once you've downloaded your photos, you are free to print at a place of your choosing.
Hope this helps! Our trip is 4 months out. When should I order Memory Maker so it doesn't expire before we get there? Also don't want to miss the first 3 days. What's your rule-of-thumb? As long as you order it three days before your trip begins to take advantage of the cheaper price , you should be good to go. Once you download the first photo on MyDisneyPhotoPass. The photos expire 45 days after the date they were taken. I was looking to take some evening photos for my visit this September, will there be photographers still at the park when it starts to get dark?
You can assign the ownership of the Memory Maker to yourself or someone else in your travel party and then confirm your choice. If you have not received an email confirming your order, we'd suggest waiting a little bit longer for it to show up. But if it does not, then you may need to call a Cast Member for assistance at with locating your ticket ID number.
If I buy 4x6 prints from e z prints which the app sends me to will my prints have the photo pass watermarked printed on it that its shows in the preview? Instead of the app, you can also try going directly to the Disney PhotoPass website. You should still be able to search through and select individual photos. There are different options for prints, and each option includes digital download rights to the photo. It would not include any watermarks. I used this at Disneyland and got a few free printed pics as well as the digital downloads.
Is it the same at Disney World? You would have to purchase it, but Memory Maker would be your best option if you'd like to download all of the digital photos taken by PhotoPass photographers, as well as ride photos.
However, you can purchase photos individually if you only wanted to keep a few. Will picture taking with characters still not be available or can accommodations be made of some sort?
At this time, the traditional character greetings are unavailable and we're unsure of when they'll be coming back, but there are several characters who do have photo opportunities, such as Stitch in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom or Mary Poppins in the U. Hi, This is great info as I am thinking of purchasing a memory maker package for my upcoming trip to Disney World in July. My husband is not going however he has an iPhone and I have an Android device.
I read that the extra features to add stickers and boarders is only available on iPhone. If he isnt going with us can I still add him to share my photos with so I can use this feature from his phone? Just make sure he's connected as part of your Friends and Family list, and you can select the option to share your Disney PhotoPass photos with him. I'm wondering if anyone has run into the same problem we are. I've downloaded the photos from the Photopass website, but after unzipping the folders, it looks like all of the photos have long complex file names, and they're all out of order!
Is there a way to download our photos so that they automatically sort by the time the photo was taken? We can go through and try to organize them manually, but there has to be a better way. Hi there. When you open the app, scroll to the main menu and select "Photos. You can also purchase individual photos on the Disney PhotoPass website.
Is there any specific way to get the deal? We are seeing the same thing on the app, unfortunately! But if you hop here instead the website rather than the app , you should see the advance, discounted price : Hope this helps! Our family of 8 used Photo Pass on our last trip to Disney World. Everyone was linked and able to use it. Best part for me was in all my trips to Disney there was so much I missed because I was busy taking pictures - often without me in them. It was great to have someone do the photography and actually see me for a change.
We actually had over pictures taken and it was well worth the money plus we were able to add frames and sayings after we downloaded them and made CD copies for every one in our party. We split the cost and it was worth every penny. We are heading to Disney in Nov and are thinking about the Memory Maker. I thought I read somewhere that characters are no longer roaming the park. That said, is there enough opportunity for pictures to warrant Memory Maker?
That's correct; there are no formal meet and greets right now. The characters are instead out and about sporadically, so Memory Maker would just cover the PhotoPass stops at icons around the parks in front of the castle; in front of the Tree of Life; in front of the Millennium Falcon or the Chinese Theater; etc.
We bought a memory maker, but our trip was cancelled due to COVID, can we get refunded or can I wait to use it in a year or 2? Yes, we would imagine that Disney can help you out with either option!
The best number to call would be PhotoPass Guest Support. We love Disney Memory Maker. We consider it worth the money to do it, but believe there is one major thing to consider. You have purchased access to a service. If you don't take advantage of that service it won't be worth it. So actively seek out photographers. We have hundreds of memories that expand our vacation well after it is finished. In addition the removal of automatic Stock Photos is another sad loss.
Do they include Galaxy's Edge? Toy Story land? Would love to see an update to this that includes some info on the Stock Photos. Would be even better if you could see watermarked or thumbnail versions of them to be able to judge if that extra cost is worth it. Any insights on to where we might find some of this info? Hey I am planning on buying an Annual Pass.
The platinum pass to be exact. I live in SC so I will put the voucher in the app well before our trip but I will not pick up our pass until the day before our first day in the park. Will the photo pass work the first day in the park with an AP or does it take 3 days like MM? And are they unlimited downloads with APs for everyone on my account just like MM?
As long as your pass is linked in My Disney Experience during your trip, PhotoPass should go into effect immediately. Unlike Memory Maker, though, only Annual Passholders who are linked to your account will have the unlimited download benefit - so if you're traveling in a group and are the only one with an AP, be sure to scan your MagicBand at PhotoPass stops! You can then download and share, but others won't be able to do the same unless they are also pass holders though they may be able to see the photos in My Disney Experience.
Be sure that everyone is linked in My Disney Experience and has selected that everyone has permission to see one another's photos! I am about to buy an annual pass only the weekday. How long does your MemoryMaker last? Will I be able to take photos the entire year? Thank you. Do you know which type of annual pass you have?
If you have any question about which type of pass you have, there is a special Passholder line at Good evening. We are going to Disney works the end of this month for a few days.
We will be going to 3 Disney parks. If I buy the memory maker, can we use it at all parks for the entire time there? Yes, if you purchase Memory Maker, you can use it at all of the Disney Parks for your entire visit. Be sure to activate it at least three days in advance to save some extra green! Have they removed this capability from both the computer and phone now?
The editing function including adding borders, stickers and filters is only available on Apple IOS devices. It is not available through the website or Android app, unfortunately! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! We've adjusted our post accordingly, as well. Hello again. Please ignore my previous comment. I didn't see all of the comments at first; you've already addressed my question in a previous comment.
Memory Maker works without MagicBands. No worries - you are correct that Memory Maker can be used with both MagicBands and cards : Thanks for taking the time to hop by! Thank you very much for this information; it was very helpful! They do all have tickets except the 2-year-old. Hi, I am visiting Disney in a month. I saw this article and was interested in getting the attractions plus package but I can't find this anywhere on Disney's website.
Is this still available or is it something that needs to purchased at the park? If so I am thinking i should contact disney to make sure because I will then need to determine if we should get the memory maker. I appreciate any info you can offer. We're sorry to say that this package is no longer available! We've gone ahead and removed it from the post, as well. Forgive me if this has already been asked, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
We are traveling to Disney World in March and will be entering the parks using a cast member's main gate passes. Can memory maker still be tied to the MDE account when a magic band is scanned even if that person doesn't have a ticket linked to their account? Yes, as long as Memory Maker is linked to your My Disney Experience account, you'll be able to scan your Magic Band even if there isn't a ticket tied to the account.
Have a frogtastic time! We are going to Disney for the first time with the kids in March We are not staying on a Disney resort. Can I purchase now to have it mailed to us or will it expire in 30 days from purchase? Yes, you can purchase Memory Maker even if you are staying on-site - and if you purchase in advance, you can save some green!
Be sure to purchase at least 3 days before your visit. It won't be activated until you use it the first time, and then will expire 30 days thereafter. Memory Maker will be linked to your My Disney Experience account, so you can link it to a MagicBand or ticket to use in-park with PhotoPass photographers. We still see the active discount here you'll need to choose advance purchase rather than starts immediately to receive the discount. I'd there a difference from the I'm going to the parks from Jan 4 to 8.
We'd suggest getting in touch with the PhotoPass department with the date and time of the photo - they can try to help sleuth it out! They can be reached at My wife and myself are making our first trip to WDW for our anniversary in November. I have tried with no success to find a listing of Memory Maker photo spots for all four parks including restaurants. We have Dinner reservations for Be Our Guest and would like to know if pictures are taken in the restaurant.
Thanks for any help you can give me. This takes place outside of the dining room itself in Belle's library, though you'll have lots of time to walk around each of the different rooms of the restaurant to take photos independently, as well.
The one drawback is that there are no unlimited photopass downloads in the Silver pass. But if one family member loads "memory maker" on to his Silver annual pass, will it be the same as a gold pass with unlimited photopass downloads? From the article above, it seems that the only drawback is that after 72 hours your photos dissapear. Or is there more? You are correct — the Silver Pass does not include unlimited PhotoPass downloads. If you purchase the Memory Maker, then yes, you would get unlimited downloads during a 30 day period from the time of the first photo taken.
There are two options for purchasing Memory Maker with regular park admission : One is slightly more expensive, but allows you to start taking photos immediately. The other is less expensive, but has a 72 hour waiting period, like you mentioned. Once you arrive and take a photo, have the PhotoPass photographer scan your MagicBand or admission card, and the should appear in your My Disney Experience account some ride photos will appear automatically.
It may take a few hours for photos to appear in the app. I am heading out to florida in May and wondering when I could purchase my memory maker - ideally as early as possible, also is the memory make able to be used in Other Disney parks so Hong Kong and LA as visiting these for a few days before heading to Florida.
You are so welcome! We aren't quite sure on Hong Kong, but in LA, unlimited photo privileges are included on days that you upgrade to MaxPass - so not entirely the same, but similar and worth it for the price of downloading pics alone, in our opinion! What have you done with the pictures on Memory Maker after your trip to Disney? But just looking for other creative ideas! This is a great question - I bet the Frog Pond has some suggestions! The most important thing to do is to download them within a month of getting home.
From there, we've printed, made canvas photos and made photo books like you mentioned :. My sister is traveling to Disney World on august 30 with her family; I am traveling from september 19 yo september Can we share a memory maker account? Question about the Photo Pass vs the memory maker. If I have a magic band and decide NOT to purchase the memory maker, the photographer can still link a picture they take and it will go to my Disney experience account?
I would just have to pay for it separately? We were planning on buying Memory Maker at the park so we could get the military discount.
In reading all the questions and comments I am now concerned. If we wait until we are at the parks to purchase the Memory Maker the ones we took for the first 72 are not included in the free downloads. I hope I am wrong! You can certainly purchase this in advance!
Be sure to do it at least 3 days in advance to get a slight discount. It won't be activated until you enter the park and scan your Magic Band at the first PhotoPass stop. How long does the memory maker last. My niece will be going to Disney about 3 weeks before I get there. We were thinking of sharing the cost if the memory maker doesn't expire before I get there. You can begin capturing photos as soon as you purchase Memory Maker. Once you download the first photo on Disney PhotoPass or the My Disney Experience Mobile App—or otherwise redeem your Memory Maker purchase—you then have 30 days to capture more photos.
